Introduction
This article will show you how to add teachers to your Boost account. There are two different methods to choose from:
-
- Adding teachers via the Admin Hub
- Enabling self-registration for teachers
Before Adding a New Teacher
Before adding a new teacher, it's worth checking if they're already registered.
If they're in Teachers > With Access, they'll be able to log in to Boost and you don't need to do anything else.
If they're in Teachers > Without Access, you'll need to grant them full access before they can log into Boost.
If they're in Teachers > Limited Access, they'll be able to log in to Boost and access your subscriptions, but you'll need to grant them full access before they can view the Admin Hub.
If they're in Teachers > Pending Deletion, you'll need to cancel their deletion and grant them access before they can access your Boost subscriptions and the Admin Hub.
Adding Teachers via the Admin Hub
- Log in to Boost.
- Click the Admin Hub icon in the top right corner.
- Go to Teachers > With Access.
- Click Add User in the bottom right corner.
- Enter the details of the teacher you would like to add.
- Click Save.
Once saved, the new teacher will be automatically placed in Teachers > With Access. They'll also receive an email prompting them to verify their email address and create a password. Once they've completed these steps, they'll be able to log in to Boost.
Enabling Self-Registration for Teachers
- Log in to Boost.
- Click the Admin Hub icon in the top right corner.
- Go to Preferences.
- In the Teacher Preferences box, tick 'Allow Teacher Admins to self-register via this URL'.
- There is no 'Teacher' role in Boost, only 'Teacher Admins' and the Access Coordinator. Therefore, you can ignore the self-registration link for 'Teachers'. For an overview of the different roles and permissions in Boost, click here.
- Click Copy Link to copy the self-registration link, then paste it somewhere secure for your colleagues to access (e.g., an email or digital noticeboard).
- If your current link does not work or you think it has been compromised, you can disable it and generate a new one by clicking Generate a New Link.
When a teacher clicks the self-registration link, they will be prompted to fill in their name and email address, then placed in Teachers > Limited Access. They will then receive an email asking them to verify their email address and create a password. Once they've completed these steps, they'll be able to log in to Boost and access your subscriptions, but they won't have access to the Admin Hub until you grant them full access.
